Elizabeth McDermott
Elizabeth is a senior at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In the fall, she will join the Boston College Class of 2022 to study International Relations with a concentration in Peace and Justice. Elizabeth is extremely involved with Amnesty International, serving as both the President of her school’s chapter as well at the Student Activist Coordinator for the state of Iowa. At Washington, she is the Student Body President, an officer of the Interact service club, and peer tutors students who have recently immigrated to the United States. After college, Elizabeth hopes to go into nonprofit work in the realm of either a global health or human rights.
