Lesson Design:
- Share a prepared written response where you answer the questions:
1. What did you find so interesting about the change-maker who has inspired you?
2. What does it make you think about?
3. What feelings does it ‘spark’ within you?
- Students read and review resources about and from Dan and other inspiring change-makers provided by the teacher.
- Students write in response to one or more of the stories or resources they find compelling, using these questions to prompt their thinking and responses:
1. What did you find so interesting about the change-maker who has inspired you?
2. What does it make you think about?
3. What feelings does it ‘spark’ in you?
4. How can you take what you learned from these change-makers to help defend human rights in your own life?
- Students share their responses with a partner.
