Curriculum Design and Development
Rock Your World provides expert Film Curriculum Design and Development Services to enhance the educational reach of your film(s) that deal with human rights themes. Our team of educators has over three decades worth of experience creating standards-aligned curriculum and enrichment activities anchored in human rights.

Our curriculum development process is accomplished in five basic steps:
1. Needs Assessment
Needs Assessment data will help our team to fully understand the intent of, and expectations for the completed curriculum. By the end of this step, we will have determined: purpose, length, audience and curriculum outcomes.

2. Planning Session
3. Content Development
The Planning Session and Content Development steps occur simultaneously. During this session, discussions occur about the content that is to be developed and delivered in the curriculum. During this step, our content development and design experts will be present, along with our team coordinator who will facilitate the process and manage administrative issues related to design issues. The team should meet at least once for a Planning/Content Development--in person or virtually. Sessions can be from one to four days depending on the complexity of the curriculum program. The outcome of this step will be: Concrete expected program outcomes, outline of major content focal points in film, suggested instructional strategies for each focal point, a draft of the overall curriculum, performance objectives for each content area, and content development assignments with time frames for completion, regular conference call check-in schedule for ongoing progress.

4. Pilot Delivery and Revision
In this step, the curriculum is piloted with a sample of the target audience to validate the content, instructional strategies and expected outcomes of the curriculum. Lesson plans, participant materials and training aids will be tested during pilot delivery for their effectiveness and clarity. In essence, by the end of this step we will have an end-of-program produce action planning tool to implement changes around curriculum focal points that may need fine tuning.

5. Completed Curriculum Package
The tested/validated curriculum package contains all materials necessary in order to deliver to the target audience. Our comprehensive package will include master copies of all lesson plans and supporting materials, guidance (written and otherwise) in how to utilize all materials and will be ready for use (if housed online) and/or delivery. Our package will be tailored to your vision and needs and at a minimum typically includes:
Lesson Plans and instructional materials for targeted grade levels.
Training Aids to complement the content and increase learning retention (usb-ready materials, posters, annotated bibliographies and recommended sources).

Cost: We are happy to provide a budget estimate for each step of the process upon request.
